HOW TO HANDLE A DENTAL EMERGENCY

First things first—call us. At Inspire Dental we are ready and willing to give you the treatment you need as quickly as possible. Make sure to follow the guidelines below that are specific to your emergency before arriving.

  • For tooth pain: First rinse the mouth with warm water, then floss to remove any food that might be settled into the area.

  • If a tooth is cracked:  Rinse your mouth out with warm water. To prevent swelling, apply a cold compress to the cheek.

  • If a tooth has been knocked out: First hold the tooth by its crown (not its root) and try placing it back in its socket. If the tooth will not stay in place, prevent it from drying out by wrapping it in wet gauze, soaking it in milk, or holding it to the inside of your cheek.

  • If a tooth is loose: Try putting the tooth back in its original position and bite down firmly to hold it in place.

TAKING PRECAUTION
